ICELab

The team from the ECE Department at Aarhus University, ICELab Group, led by Professor Farshad Moradi, focuses on the development of integrated circuits and systems for applications such as biomedical IC design (e.g. brain implants), brain-inspired computing (e.g. neuromorphic computing using CMOS in both digital and analog CMOS and other emerging technologies), energy harvesting (e.g. batteryless IoTs), and emerging technologies (e.g. spintronic devices). Much of the group’s research is driven by industry needs and specialised application areas.

Close collaboration with both public and private sectors ensures that the knowledge and technology developed by the group are effectively applied in real-world scenarios. ICELab is equipped with advanced design tools, device characterisation, and measurement equipment essential for design, testing, and chip characterisation, including a probe station, wire-bonding machine, PCB machine, high-frequency network analyser, signal and spectrum analysers, arbitrary signal generators, pattern generator, oscilloscope, and more.
